Your natural state is one of pure joy! Joy is always present, although sometimes hidden behind the veil of our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. True joy exists independent of all objects, beliefs, images, and memories. Remember, there doesn’t have to be a reason for you to feel joy. There is joy already inside of you, waiting to be welcomed to the forefront of your awareness.
In this 2hour practice we will focus on opening the heart chakra (anahata) through meditation, journaling, gentle flowing movements and expansive yoga postures (asana) to create a sense of ease and lightness in the body. Creating space to really embody the experience of Joy.
Joy has always been recognised as a powerful medicine. Modern day research shows that regularly experiencing joy can strengthen our immune system, boost our energy and diminish our perception of pain, anxiety, fear and depression. It can protect you from the damaging effects of stress and enhance well-being by activating feel good chemicals and increasing your ability to get a good night sleep.
This class is suitable for all bodies and experience levels; you will be encouraged to make the practice your own.
