About the Event
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (5 element theory) the Water element is associated with Winter, cold and dark, it's nature interospective; running deeply within your being. Water is yielding yet all conquering, being both the beginning and end of any cycle, the source of life and it's unfolding.
The emotion associated with the water element is fear. In appropriate amounts, fear is essential to survival because it enables us to navigate situations with care and caution. When the water element is out of balance, one might experience excess fear, anxiety, phobias, and lack of courage. Physical symptoms may show up in relation to our bones, joints, teeth, ears, reproductive system, urinary system, low back and knees.
In this two hour practice we will move through a series of yin yoga postures designed to target the Meridian lines of the kidneys and urinary bladder (associated with the water element) to deeply nourish and harmonise.
As you linger within the posture the emphasis becomes about surrender and yielding, you will be encouraged to tune in to sensation and be witness to the fluctuations of the mind. Breath practices will be encorporated throughout.
The practice will culminate with a long deeply restful Savasana with time for integration and a soothing herbal tea.
You will receive a handout to take away and an essential oil blend designed to help balance the water element.
This practice is suitable for all bodies and experience levels.
